A mix of 4 panoramic and 4 passenger lifts for a 7-floor high-traffic shopping mall in Surabaya.
Scope of Work
About the Project
Grand Surabaya Mall is a 7-floor shopping center with 85,000 m² of leasable area and a target weekend traffic of 60,000 visitors per day. The project required a vertical transportation system that is reliable, fast, and visually contributive as part of the mall interior.
Scope of Work
- 4 panoramic lifts with transparent cabins facing the main atrium
- 4 passenger lifts for parking and service access
- 24 escalator units (sub-contracted)
- Group control system for peak traffic efficiency
Panoramic Lift Specifications
- Capacity: 1350 kg / 17 persons
- Speed: 1.75 m/s
- Cabin: Glass cabin with stainless frame and LED ambient lighting
- Drive: VVVF with regenerative
- Safety: Multi-beam door safety, ARD, fire emergency mode
Results
- Project delivered 3 weeks ahead of schedule
- Panoramic lifts became an atrium aesthetic focal point
- Group control proved capable of handling peak weekend traffic with average waiting time under 30 seconds
- Premium maintenance contract through 2030
